I was the first designer hired at 8over8, brought on largely for my technical skill and experience debugging cross-browser issues rather than a portfolio of pretty screens.
Between 2013 and 2017 I spent most of my time on AVEVA Contract Risk Management Software (formerly ProCon), the sole product of 8over8 before its acquisition by AVEVA. It audited communication between the company commissioning a build and the contractor hired to build it — aimed at mega-capital projects where costs ran into the tens of millions and overruns of 40%+ were common.
Over my time on ProCon, I moved it from a database-on-a-screen interface to something with a more considered approach to usability, working with each product owner to visualise features and get sign-off from product and development before any code was written.
Here's a product demo of the UI I designed, recorded for YouTube.
